Geriatrics
DDA has a strong commitment to serve senior citizens in the community. Health care for seniors in Plano will be offered through the Baylor Senior Health Network (BSHN) and Dallas Diagnostic Association.
The following geriatric services are offered in Plano:
Geriatric Primary Care – Offered through a specialized senior clinic that is integrated within the Dallas Diagnostic Association practice in Plano. The program is directed by Dr. Mary A. Norman, MD, who is board certified in internal medicine and holds a certificate of added qualifications in geriatric medicine. A geriatric social worker will also be available for consultation.
Geriatric Consultation – Evaluation and care plan development for patients with multiple chronic medical problems common with aging including: memory loss, depression, incontinence, functional decline and falls. Care plans are developed in consultation with the patient, patient's family and caregivers and current primary care provider.
House Calls – Any patient who is home-bound is eligible for this innovative program through which geriatricians (MDs) and nurse practitioners provide primary care to patients in their home.
